Following hot on the heels of Storm Isha, the storm we have been following for a couple of days has now been given a name by Met Éireann, the Irish National Meteorological Service. According to the UK Met Office:
As the winds ease and the clean-up continues following Storm Isha, Met Eireann has named Storm Jocelyn.
Storm Jocelyn will bring strong winds and rain to Northern Ireland and much of Britain.
The worst of Jocelyn’s inclement weather will be further north, but nevertheless the Met Office forecast for accumulated rainfall for the 48 hours from midnight last night looks like this:
The current Met Office surface pressure charts show Storm Jocelyn reaching a minimum Mean Sea Level Pressure (MSLP) of 963 hPa north of Scotland by midnight on Tuesday:
