There has been some rain today, and here is how South West Water’s WaterFit Live map of sewage pollution looks in late afternoon:
Yesterday was warm and sunny, but that all changed overnight. It’s been raining heavily over Devon & Cornwall this morning. Hence the Environment Agency has issued numerous “pollution risk” warnings for local beaches. Needless to say South West Water’s current WaterFit Live map if full of sewage pollution warnings, especially along the south coast:
The rain had stopped this morning, but the omens were not good for the weather later in the day. The Environment Agency issued another set of “pollution risk” warnings for Devon and Cornwall, as well as a flood warning for our corner of the South West Peninsula:
By this afternoon the heavens had opened, and the Met Office forecast was for much more rain including potential thunderstorms:
By late afternoon the inevitable has happened. There are now ongoing sewage pollution incidents at Lynmouth on the north coast of Devon, Looe and Seaton on the south coast of Cornwall, plus several more across the River Tamar around Plymouth:
