Sewage in the Sea at Widemouth Bay

We visited the north coast yesterday afternoon, for a walk rather than a surf. The wet weather gear came out at around quarter past two:

The rain became heavier overnight. It’s forecast to stop soon, but we won’t be going to the seaside today. Here’s what the Surfers Against Sewage pollution map looks like this morning:

Elsewhere on the north coast there have been CSO overflows at Harlyn and Ilfracombe Hele, together with numerous beaches along the south coast. I went swimming at Exemouth last Sunday:
